Kevin Peterson

Kevin got his first tape recorder for Christmas when he was just 10 (but mom says his first microphone was a spatula at 5), and based on the in depth interviews with family members that year on what they got for Christmas, it’s no surprise that he ended up in radio. After graduating from the University of South Alabama, Plan A for Kevin was to be a baseball play-by-play announcer, but music radio won out and has taken him from Mobile to Minneapolis, back to Mobile; Grand Forks, North Dakota, back to Minneapolis, then Atlanta before landing in Pensacola, where he spent seven years as the program director and morning show host on Soft Rock 94.1. Since then he’s spent five years as the Christian music editor for the national industry trade publication Radio & Records magazine. Kevin’s passion for contemporary Christian music began in the early 90’s with the discovery that the music sounded just like the music he was playing on secular radio, except it had better lyrics. That planted the seeds for his Christian music show “Sonrise,” which is now heard Sunday mornings on secular stations around the country. Kevin and his wife Lisa have three kids; Josh (14), Noah (10) and Faith (8) and a cavalier king Charles spaniel named Duke.

Kevin will be the Program Director and Music Director for WOW 90.9, in addition to hosting the mid-days on WOW.

Michael Stuart

You can say WOW 90.9 afternoon host Michael Stuart got his start in music when he heard his first Bee Gees song in 1970. Sure, he was only 6 years old but that’s when he knew he wanted to be involved in music in some way. Fast forward to high school, and Michael put together a band and was the lead singer. The singing continue in bands after high school and that led to appearances at some night clubs, and skating rinks which is when he realized he had a knack for spinning the records, too. As the DJ gigs continued to grow, Michael had an opportunity to be a guest DJ on WABB. It was on that night, January 5th 1984, Michael said he knew what he wanted to do from then on!

Over the years, Michael has been on radio stations in Mobile, AL; Charleston, SC; Nashua, NH; Colorado Springs, CO; Atlanta, GA; Destin and Pensacola, FL. Michael is also the producer of the Christian music show “Sonrise,” which is now heard Sunday mornings on secular stations around the country and hosted by WOW 90.9 Program Director and Music Director, Kevin Peterson. Michael is the father of Brittnie (23), Sydney (9) and Grant (7) and he is the Grandfather of his grandson Aidan.
