LOCALLY, if you would like to volunteer or donate either money or items to storm victims, we at WOW RADIO are very familiar with Larry Ward and have watched his incredible efforts over many years. Larry has a servant's heart, and we assure you he's not in it for the publicity. He is a local businessman in Milton, Florida, who supplies mobile stages and equipment for festivals and events nationwide.
For many years, he has volunteered his time, employees, equipment, and resources and given his own personal money every time a major hurricane occurs. He is not in the disaster relief business; he just has a heart for helping people.
Larry sends this message, which we're relaying to you:
WE NEED HELP getting goods and supplies to those affected by storms.
The most significant needs are:
Volunteers: They can use churches, youth groups, organizations, families, or individuals looking to help people who desperately need it. Volunteers are needed to help load, unload, sort, etc., relief items in Milton, FL, and haul relief items to disaster areas.
Contractor's Choice 42 Gallon Contractor Clean Up (Plastic) Bags: specific bags are needed. They are available at Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Amazon. Bags are used to repackage MREs to deliver to hurricane-affected areas. When MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) are donated, they must follow specific rules. One rule is that the MREs must be taken from the cases and bagged up to distribute individually. This limits unscrupulous people from reselling by the case. They need bags, bags, and more bags!
Blessing buckets and other items: Individuals, churches, or organizations can download the PDF files below and assemble disaster relief buckets to send to those in need. Items can also be donated without a bucket. The PDF's below provide complete instructions on how to build a bucket.
